The Webb Brothers, from a farming family, formed as a group in the early 1950s, first recording in 1954 after winning a heat of Australias Amateur Hour. Their classic The Call Of The Bellbird was recorded at that session and released on the Rodeo label.
More success followed with hits for a number of record labels. They won Golden Guitars for Best Group in 1976 with The Palmer River Song and Top Selling Record with Who Put The Roo In The Stew in 1982.
The same year, the Webbs marked their 25th year in country music by hosting a festival on their Thornside property which evolved into the now famous Gympie Muster.
