ROCKY PAGE
Inducted January 1998

Dean "Rocky" Page grew up in the Adelaide Hills district of South Australia. He was fascinated by hypnotism and later incorporated it into his stage act. Rocky learnt music from Bert Woolley and in 1950 started his own music school. After a Stan Gill tour in 1956, he formed a duo with Les Partell recording as The Whitman Brothers. He settled in Berri (SA) starting his long running 5RM radio show. In 1967 he toured with Slim Dusty and 1978 did an Apex club sponsored outback trek for leukaemia research and recorded for the Hadley label. At Barmera in South Australia, Rocky set up a museum and outdoor theatre, staging the annual New Talent Awards festival. He died in 1997 and was elevated to the Roll of Renown posthumously.
