KEVIN KING
Inducted January 2007

Kevin King first recorded in 1954 on the famous Regal Zonophone label.

That first session included the popular Rub-a-dub which became a hit on radio and made Kevin King a household name.

Numerous releases followed, including some of the first on the all-Australian Festival label in the 1970s.

Through the 1950s and 1960s, Kevin featured in a number of high profile touring shows including with Reg Lindsay and Slim Dusty and as a key figure in the All Star Western Show with the likes of Rick & Thel Carey, Chad Morgan and Nev Nicholls.

A pioneer of our music, Kevin King is widely respected and recognised as one of Australia’s most successful early country music entertainers and recording artists.
