JIMMY LITTLE
Inducted January 1994

Throughout his more than 40-year career, Jimmy has made numerous recordings. In 1994, following his elevation to the Roll of Renown, he performed on the Golden Guitar Awards show and this led him to a comeback, releasing his first album, titled Yorta Yorta Man, for 15 years in 1995. Since he first hit the national spotlight with his recording of Royal Telephone, Jimmy still captures the hearts of country (and other) fans Australia-wide. In 1999, he released a project album, Messenger, which won him Adult Contemporary Album of the Year at the ARIA Awards, the same night he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Born at Cumeragunga Mission on March 1, 1937, Jimmy formed The Jimmy Little Trio at just 17 years of age and within two short years, had made his first recording for Regal Zonophone. Jimmy is also acclaimed for his role in the 1959 movie Shadow Of The Boomerang. He has also been highly visible in cultural and teaching activities particularly with Aboriginal communities.
