CHAD MORGAN

Inducted January 1987

Born Chadwick William Morgan in Wondai. Queensland, Chad was yet another discovery of Australia's Amateur Hour. After recording for EMI in 1952, he toured extensively with a number of shows including the Slim Dusty Show, the All Star Western Show and his own Chad Morgan Show.

His unique style of comedy is mimicked by even some of our current, front-line exponents of country music, proving conclusively, the success of his recipe for comedy over generations.

Chad's songs, like My Thrashing Machine, The Fatal Wedding, The Duckinwilla Dance and My Own Grandpa, never fail to gain a full audience reaction, even after being heard many times.

Our Clown Prince of Country Music, The Sheik of Scrubby Creek, Chad is one of Australia's most popular and successful country comedy stars. He has now been in the business for more than 40 years, has released numerous recordings and continues to perform regularly.
